Inner Canyon Trails Experience The Hike

Almost everyday you hear about people who are called hero's. If anybody deservers this title, it is the National Park Service rescue teams and park rangers in the Grand Canyon. There are signs and warnings posted everywhere at the Grand Canyon warning people of the dangers from hiking the Grand Canyon inner trails. But hundreds of people a year do not heed the warnings and hundreds a year find out the hard way. This slide show is dedicated to those at the Grand Canyon that put their lives on the line daily to help those that sercume to heat, falls, rocks slides, and what ever else the canyon brings their way.

One of the reasons for our DVD and this web site, is to try and educate people on the dangers of hiking the inner canyon trails of the Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon is one of the most wonderful places on the face of this planet. But you most learn that hiking the Grand Canyon is unlike any other place you have hiked. Over 350 people are flown out of the canyon every year. 2003 was one of the busiest rescue years on record. The helicopter rescue team made 650 flights in the canyon to rescue people. During that same year one of the rescue helicopters crashed on the North Rim do to mechanical failure. All five onboard were fine do to the skill of the pilot. During the summer months the park rangers may treat over 20 cases of heat exhastion a day. So the more you know about hiking the Grand Canyon, the less chance of them putting their lives on the line for you.
